Metso valves for Indian refinery

Metso, a manufacturer of industrial valves & other services, with operations in North and South America, will supply special Neles® valves for a delayed coker unit in the Barauni refinery’s capacity expansion in India. The refinery is operated by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. The delayed coking process is one of the most demanding sub-processes in oil refining, and it sets especially high requirements for valve reliability and tightness.

Metso will supply the complete package of valves for the critical specialty valve system, including special Neles valves in Pressure Class 900, ball valves ranging from 2″-20″ and a technologically advanced 4-way switching valve. Metso’s scope also includes a programmable logic controller that continuously controls the devices and control panels. The PLC and control panels will be provided by an Indian original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

Metso holds a strong position as a technology supplier for the delayed coking process, particularly in North America. Recently, Metso has also delivered its valves for the delayed coking process for Abu Dhabi Oil Refinery’s (TAKREER) plant and Sino-Venezuela’s Guangdong Petrochemical Company plant in China.
