Master Flo Valve 100,000th choke valve

Edmonton oilfield equipment manufacturer Master Flo Valve Inc. recently produced its 100,000th choke valve, a key piece of technology that controls the flow of high-pressure well fluids. The achievement reflects the company’s focus on building long-term partnerships with its customers and the expertise of its staff in technical sales, engineering and manufacturing, President Mark McNeill said. Almost as significant as the manufacturing milestone, Master Flo has weathered the energy-industry downturn without having to reduce its 300-employee workforce — 220 people in Edmonton and others in offices around the globe, including manufacturing facilities in Aberdeen, Scotland and Houston, Texas.

Founded in 1979, Master Flo designs and manufactures choke valves, control valves and actuators for leading oil and gas companies. Its flow-management products are in use in every major onshore and offshore oil and gas field worldwide. The company designs its valves itself and assembles, paints, tests and ships finished products. Machining is done by local machine shops.
