McJunkin Red Man opens new distribution center

MRC Global Inc. has announced today that its subsidiary, McJunkin Red Man Corporation, has opened a new regional distribution center (RDC) in Monessen, PA just outside of Pittsburgh.
The new facility is approximately 163,000 square feet of warehouse space on 14 acres. It will also house MRC Global’s fifth valve automation center in its U.S. Eastern region.
“Our primary focus is serving our customers with excellence,” Chairman, President & CEO Andrew Lane said. “Adding this new facility is a direct response to the increased activity of our customers in the region, especially with our gas utility business and midstream gathering and transmission market segments. The new RDC will increase our ability to service the many long-term customers in this important region.”
MRC Global relies on a hub-and-spoke distribution model, which gives its branches access to a wider array of products through large inventories at the central distribution centers. The new RDC in Pittsburgh is the latest addition to the company’s network of service locations and is its 10th RDC in the U.S.
The facility will employ approximately 26 people and support 15 MRC Global branches throughout the Northeast U.S.
