DNV GL, a global provider of risk management services, was named the ‘Risk Management Consultancy of the Year’ at the Global Risk Awards 2015 for the second year running. It was recognised for its exceptional performance within the industry by the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) by a cross-continent judging panel comprising of more than 24 leading risk management practitioners and academics from entries submitted from across the globe.
DNV GL, which celebrated 150 years of operation last year, supports businesses in identifying, assessing and mitigating risks. The company’s main area of expertise lies within asset, enterprise, operational, sustainability and project investment risk. Commendation was also given to the Spadeadam test site in Cumbria, which simulates major events such as fire and explosions to test the impact on buildings and critical systems to demonstrate the potential impact and examine technical solutions.
The company was highly commended for its diverse services across a range of industries such as energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, aviation and healthcare. Its strategic research programmes in particular, received extremely positive recognition. Projects include researching Arctic risks for oil and gas exploration and production, managing the future supply of energy, and healthcare research to promote patient safety.
