LNG plant planned for Florida

American LNG has received local permission to move ahead with a $250 million USD LNG plant in Titusville, Florida, which is near Cape Canaveral.

The building company still has to procure the various construction and environmental permits that are required for such a project, associated officials are confident that the plant could be up and running in as soon as 18 months. Department of Energy (DOE) approval will also be sought in order to ship the estimated 600,000 metric tons of LNG over a 20-year period to Free Trade Agreement countries, most likely located in the Caribbean or Central America.
