Record Turnout Expected for 2015 4C Environmental Confe

This year’s 4C Environmental Conference brings together a record 1,000 representatives from environmental regulatory and regulated communities for 4 days of presentations, trainings, and showcases on the latest compliance topics and products at the newly constructed JW Marriott in downtown Austin on February 16-19th.

Attendees can expect a special focus on continuous emissions and ambient air monitoring systems—each year’s focus is chosen from a list of relevant rules and topics under particular scrutiny by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and of concern to attendees. Other relevant conference topics include Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR), Benzene Waste Operations NESHAP (BWON), Tank and Terminal Regulatory Concerns, Flare Monitoring & Minimization, Air Permitting, Wastewater Treatment Optimization, Oil & Gas Regulatory Initiatives, Health & Safety, and Ethics.

The 2015 conference accommodates approximately 20 new essential and expert level trainings, including courses on AERMOD Dispersion Modeling, LeakDAS Software Training, Guideware Software Training, the NSPS QQQ rule, cooling tower essentials, oil & gas, wastewater emissions, advanced industrial wastewater treatment, EPCRA/TRI, and PHA. Companies facilitating these trainings include Oris/Providence, InspectionLogic, Guideware, LDARtools, Sage, Hydromantis, Smith & Burgess, and many more.

Additionally, the conference boasts greater exhibit space, with over 100 expected vendors in attendance. Display wares are showcased throughout the conference, such as Flexitallic gaskets and valves specifically designed to prevent and limit facility emissions. Attendees are given the chance to learn and share information on the latest technologies featured at 4C. It also includes a quality control component — the 4C Steering Committee — that ensures attendees receive thoughtful presentations and information in line with their needs. As always, the conference makes the most of the city, with new and exciting opportunities to connect with peers while enjoying unique Austin-style fun.

Attendance

The 4C network has grown to include over 1000 industry professionals representing 183 industry, agency, and government entities. Attendees include Federal and State regulators, managers and supervisors, engineers and environmental specialists, technical personnel, and service providers.

Past conferences retained a strong industry presence, including representatives of the refining, petrochemical, chemical, and oil & gas sectors, in addition to presentations by significant State and Federal regulators such as Patrick Foley from EPA Headquarters, Kosta Loukeris from EPA Region 5, Ken Gering from US EPA, NEIC, and Danielle Nesvacil from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

4C Marketplace

Originally known as the LBTF (LDAR/BWON/Tanks/Flares) Conference, organizers changed the conference name to 4C to reflect a broader focus on the most pressing regulatory issues and compliance concerns. With a larger vision in mind, 4C Environmental Conference is paving the way to establish a “4C Marketplace,” in addition to a year-long training curriculum through HSE University.

The platform will allow industry professionals to easily find and identify vendors providing products, services, training, and software for their facility’s environmental, health and safety needs. The marketplace speaks to the 4C mission of bringing environmental professionals and service providers together to “Collaborate and Connect with peers, and Contribute to industry Compliance.”
