FIELDVUE DVC incorporates position transmitter

Emerson’s Fisher FIELDVUE DVC6200 digital valve controller (DVC) series now incorporates a 4-20mA position transmitter. The integrated valve position transmitter eliminates the expense, bracketry and maintenance requirements of an add-on accessory transmitter.

The transmitter can also be configured as a discrete switch that opens and closes based on a user-configurable trip point. The trip point can be based on valve travel anywhere within the calibrated travel range or on a device alert.

The position transmitter is independent of the digital valve controller with the power coming from the control system analogue input channel in the same manner as a standard 2-wire transmitter. The DVC6200 communicates with the latest HART 7 standard. It may also be field-configured to the earlier HART 5 standard to match any control system requirement.

With over one million units installed worldwide, FIELDVUE digital valve controllers are highly suited to a wide variety of industries and applications where they provide unmatched valve operation. The DVC6200 series is offered with CSA, IECEx and FM hazardous area approvals as well as other certifications and approvals. It is also listed in the Lloyd’s Register for industrial, marine and offshore use.
