Technip wins contract to develop Starfish field in

Technip has been awarded an engineering, procurement, commissioning and installation (EPCI) contract by BG International Ltd. The contract is for the development of the Starfish field located offshore Trinidad. The field lies at a water depth of approximately 130 meters and will be tied back to the existing Dolphin ‘A’ Platform operated by BG.
“This project is an excellent example of the value of vertical integration within the expanded capability of Technip’s subsea offering,” said Technip’s Senior Vice President, North America Region, David Dickson. “The S-Lay and heavy lift capability of the G1200 has allowed us to increase our accessible market.”
The umbilical will be manufactured by Technip’s Duco Inc. facility in Channelview, Texas and the flexible jumpers will be manufactured by Technip’s Flexi France plant in Le Trait, France.
Offshore installation is expected to be performed in mid-2014 with the G1200 as the primary installation vessel for all pipelay, umbilical lay and heavy lift operations.
