Brazil contractors share Santos basin topsides awa

A consortium led by Petrobras has authorized 10 contracts for six topsides modules. The contracts are valued at $4.5 billion. The consignments include a processing plant, utilities and living quarters to be installed on six of the eight FPSOs that are under construction for the first-phase of Santos basin blocks BM-S-9 and BM-S-11 presalt development projects.

The contracts were awarded to DM Construtora de Obras Ltda/TKK Engenharia Ltda, IESA Oleo e Gas S.A., Tome Engenharia S.A./Ferrostaal Industrieanlagen GmbH, Keppel FELS do Brasil S.A., Jurong do Brasil Prestação de Serviços Ltda, and Mendes Jr Trading Engenharia S.A./OSX Construção Naval S.A. It is likely that in the next 18 months, awards for two more topside modules will go to the same companies.

For use in areas that require a processing plant different from the facilities provided by the other look-a-like FPSOs, the consortium for block BM-S-11 decided on a competitive tendering procedure for at least one additional FPSO. The BM-S-11 consortium is led by Petrobras in partnership with BG E&P Brasil Ltda (25%) and Petrogal Brasil (10%). The BM-S-9 consortium is operated by Petrobras (45%), with BG E&P Brasil Ltda (30%) and Repsol Sinopec Brasil (25%).
