Saad Al-Shiha Chairman for Valve World 2012

Valve World is delighted to announce that Mr Saad Al-Shiha is to be the next Chairman at the Valve World 2012 Conference in Dusseldorf, Germany. Mr Al-Shiha, who works in the Consulting Services Department at Saudi Aramco, is no stranger to the event, having been a steering committee member for many years.

Mr Al-Shiha brings a wealth of flow control experience with him. During a recent interview with this magazine it became clear that Mr Al-Shiha is regularly called on to resolve a huge range of topics: everything from specifications and standards to materials and failure analyses passes his desk. Nor is he adverse to travel and can often be found “in the field”, checking up on valves that cannot easily be sent to the shop.

As an engineer, Mr Al-Shiha has firm views on the integrity of equipment that is installed in plants. As he says, a valve is a pressure vessel and if it fails, the consequence could be catastrophic. Not surprisingly, therefore, his personal mantra is “quality, quality and quality!”
