United Valve celebrates 50 years

Houston-based United Valve is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2011, and the last decade has seen United Valve expand into several new areas of valve service. Engineering testing, including cryogenic, fugitive emissions and fire testing of valves, are some of the quality and design verification services the company now offers. In addition to OEM-authorized valve modification, United performs in-shop repair of valves of all types and sizes. Large diameter valves and engineered products such as metal seated ball valves are a specialty of the repair group. The company also has an active field service organization that performs in-line valve repair services throughout the Western Hemisphere. OEM manufacturing support, including complete valve fabrication, machining, assembly and testing is also offered at its 65,000 sq. ft Houston plant. The initial United Valve facility was a 6000 sq. ft. building located near Houston’s ship channel. Continuous growth has required moves to larger facilities; with the newest building occupied in 2008. The new plant features state-of-the-art CNC machine tools, complete NDE facilities, including X-ray radiography and is served by 20 ton overhead cranes.
