Emerson Introduces Hybrid Continuous Gas Analyzer

Emerson has introduced its Rosemount QX1000 Continuous Gas Analyzer designed for use in continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS).

According to the company, the unit can be used for additional applications and utilizes paramagnetic detection for O₂ and quantum cascade laser direct absorption spectroscopy for all other gases to meet stringent performance requirements. The integration of different technologies – with a modular approach – provides a flexible, single-system solution tailored to diverse application needs.

Among its many benefits, the QX1000 has a robust design for low maintenance requirements and to reduce lifecycle cost and downtime. Additionally, it uses cold/dry technology with a sample conditioning system. This combination transports gas extracted from the process to the analyzer through a thermoelectric chiller to reduce the temperature to about 4 degrees Celsius (39 Fahrenheit). As a result, most moisture condenses and drops out.

The QX1000 can integrate into existing plant infrastructures or applied as part of an integrated Emerson system solution.
