4200 new gas wells slated for Wyoming

Encana Oil & Gas, Noble Energy Inc and ConocoPhillips are planning to increase the number of gas wells in central Wyoming, and are set to submit a plan to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management within weeks to accomplish the goal.  Fremont County currently has approximately 500 producing gas wells, but the project would mean tapping into tight deep sand formations over 400 sq/miles of what is mostly BLM land about 30 mi east of Riverton. Encana will own about 3600 of the wells.
