Weir is pleased to announce its recognition as a standout supply chain organisation in the 2018 APICS Awards of Excellence.
Presented by APICS, the association for supply chain management, the Awards of Excellence recognise corporations and individuals demonstrating superior performance in the field of supply chain management. Weir received the Education category award for their dedication to advancing supply chain excellence internally and at large. Awards were presented at APICS 2018, the association’s flagship supply chain management conference, held this week in Chicago, Illinois.
“This year we are pleased to honor Novartis and Weir Group, two companies that have transformed their supply chain organisations, improving performance and achieving impressive business results,” said APICS CEO Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CPA, CAE. “These winners have embraced APICS standards and demonstrate the industry innovation, corporate transformation and workforce development we strive to teach.”
“We are delighted to be recognised by APICS as a standout supply chain organization in their 2018 Awards of Excellence,” said Weir’s Value Chain Excellence Lead Jonathan Maclean. “As a business we have made great efforts over this past year to advance our value chain excellence program and improve overall company performance in this area and this award is testament to that hard work. As a global business, it is crucial that we have a common understanding of supply chain terms and practices and our ongoing application of the APICS body of knowledge has helped to us go some way to achieving this.”
A panel of judges composed of members of the Editorial Advisory Board selected the APICS Awards of Excellence winners. This panel based its evaluations on the applicants’ originality of supply chain strategies, effectiveness of implementation and overall impact on business results. In addition to their recognition at APICS 2018, the winners will be featured in a 2019 issue of APICS magazine.
