Multi-year energy supply contracts for Enel Green Power

Enel Green Power has been awarded multi-year energy supply contracts with two solar projects for an overall capacity of 11MW within Brazil’s Pernambuco Solar Tender. The two neighbouring projects, named Fonte Solar 1 and 2, are located in northeastern Brazil, Pernambuco State. Once operational, the two solar plants will be able to generate up to 17GWh per year, avoiding the emission of more than 5000t of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Enel Green Power has been granted 20-year bilateral energy contracts for the sale of a fixed amount of power generated by the two photovoltaic plants to business customers in the Pernambuco State. EGP also has an 80MW wind project, the Fontes dos Ventos Wind Farm, under construction in the same area. The wind farm’s substation, under construction as well, will also receive the power generated by Fonte Solar 1 and 2.

The 11MW from solar add up to the 503MW of wind and hydro that Enel Green Power obtained from Brazilian public auctions between 2010 and 2013. Of this, 283MW are already under construction and93MW of hydro capacity the company already operates in Brazil.
