Device squeaks when valve leaks

Taylor Valve Technology has released a new EPD Environmental Protection Device. A whistle is installed in the device to make them produce a shrill noise, or “squeak” to indicate a leak in a relief valve. When there is a system upset, the valve opens to relieve excess pressure and the device is discharged from the vent pipe. A strong nylon tether assures that the EPD remains with its valve.
This device is designed for discharge piping on safety devices in process and compression equipment, compression and separation, or liquid, gas, and mixed phase flow applications. The EPD is designed to withstand up to 3000 psi over -45° to +300°F. on 1/2 through 4-in. relief valves.
