Completion plug simplifies valve replacement

Time and cost can be considerably reduced by using a Petersen hot tap pipe plug insertion system to stop the flow in a pressurized pipeline. The Petersen completion plug may be installed between a valve and a tapping sleeve or pipe flange to allow the valve to be later removed or replaced when and as needed. The completion plug housing is first installed just under the valve. When the valve is to be removed the completion plug disk is installed through the valve with a closed insertion tool to prevent pressure loss. The valve is then removed and either replaced with a new valve or a blind flange.
